Nelson Dominguez


Nelson Dominguez was born in Baire, Santiago de Cuba, September 23, 1947. He studied at the Cubanacan National Art School (1965-1970) and taught there from 1970 to 1985. He is currently a professor and head of the Painting Department of the College of Arts (ISA) and faculty member of its Engraving Department. Dominguez is also a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP). He is the recipient of the National Cultural award and the Alejo Carpentier award.
